this is the box
the box has boundaries
the box is proven
the box has rules
the box is comfortable
the box is reliable
the box is safe
we live there most of the time
inside it is what little we know
outside is everything else
when the answers we need aren’t in the box
most people just change the question
but sometimes that’s not enough
sometimes someone climbs outside
often they don’t survive
so others try to pull them back
they get laughed at and labeled
dreamers, fools, heretics, madmen
sometimes it’s true
usually it’s just fear
but despite fear
despite the alienation
despite the gravity of the box
some questions just won’t go away
so someone crawls out again
and if they survive
and find an answer
people stop laughing
and the world changes
